Nordic Traces: Designing For Life

Mette and Rolf Hay are sharing snapshots from their lives and of Hay’s design inspirations, to mark the launch of Oak volume 8.

Design entrepreneurs Mette and Rolf Hay turned their passion into a global phenomenon with their eponymous brand Hay – an innovative design retail space that connects the dots between pencils, sofas and everything in between. While countless collaborations with top international designers have served them well, what makes Hay stand apart is the couple’s instinct for bringing good design into the reach of a new and untapped audience

To celebrate the launch of Volume 8: Breaking New Ground, Oak invited Mette and Rolf to create a visual diary of their lives and their recent inspirations. From the inspiration behind the new Kitchen Market, to meetings with design luminaries including Erwan Bouroullec, George Sowden and Friso Kramer – the images that the Hays shared with Oak offer an insight into the partnerships they have nurtured in order make Hay the innovative force in design it is today.
