DesignMarch 2018: Reykjavik

DesignMarch 2018 is just around the corner. In less than a week, the most northerly capital in the world will bring together influential creators across a variety of disciplines – architecture, food, fashion, design – to speak, showcase and inspire. DesignMarch is Iceland’s most important annual design festival, and this year marks its 10th anniversary.

For four days, Iceland’s capital will become a hub for the best of the local design scene, as well as for bringing together strong international names. From March 15-18, Reykjavik will see around 30,000 visitors, a number that continues to grow every year. To mark the past 10 successful years, Iceland Design Centre, the organization behind the festival, will present over 100 events – workshops, exhibitions, seminars and parties – dedicated to the increasing number of innovative, fresh and exciting local Icelandic designers.

To launch the festival, DesignMarch will take the most inspirational designers, architects and creative thinkers from around the world to gather under one roof to present DesignTalks, the signature event. Ideas will be discussed, shared and debated in the Harpa concert hall, and will focus on the power of design in our present and future society. Speakers include: Co-founder and creative director for SPACE10 Kaave Pour; award-winning architect Andreas Martin-Löf; creative photographer and set designer Tekla Evelina-Severin; Danish fashion designer and creative influencer Henrik Vibskov, and more.
