In the latest issue of OAK, volume five out April 29th, we visit three leading Norwegian design brands in their studios in Oslo to take stock of where the Norwegian design scene is heading, and not least to ask why it has taken so long for Oslo-designers to make their marks internationally compared to their Scandinavian neighbours.
“There is an established common denominator for Scandinavian aesthetics, but what we see today is a contemporary interpretation of those values. It’s a fresh new language in furniture, graphic design, and fashion,” says the couple Henrik Olssøn and Erika Barbieri behind Olssøn Barbieri, photographed here by Line Thit Klein for OAK.
