To celebrate the new Design issue launching at Milan Design Week from April 4-9, Oak presents a series previewing the the best new Nordic projects and collaborations to debut at the annual Salone del Mobile
This year at Milan Design Week, an ephemeral blossoming sculpture is taking over the Cinema Arti, a decommissioned 1930s cinema built by Italian architect Mario Cereghini. The immersive, multi-sensory installation is the work of London-based duo, Studio Swine, together with Swedish fashion brand, COS. “We wanted to create an installation that could offer a moment of contemplation,” say Japanese architect, Azusa Murakami, and British artist, Alexander Groves, who make up the studio.
“Our inspiration was nature and the changing of the seasons. For us, this idea has such universal beauty. We aim to create a democratic experience which brings people together.”
The COS x Studio Swine installation will be open from the 4th – 9th April 2017 at Cinema Arti, Via Pietro Mascagni, 8, 20122 Milan
